PERSONAL
DETAILS AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
|
|
I am active
in the Society of Indexers, where I am Honorary Librarian. I have
lectured at the annual conferences of the Society of Indexers and of the
Society for Editors and Proofreaders about the use of the Internet and
about techniques and strategies for information searches.
My spare-time interests
include Egyptology, comparative religion and mythology, New Age
spirituality, astrology, Jungian psychology and music, especially
ancient, classical and world music. I participate as singer and fiddle
player in two ensembles that perform West Gallery and Shape Note music.
West Gallery music is the music of the English village churches before
the advent of organs and Hymns Ancient and Modern, while Shape Note
music is the further development of the same tradition on the other side
of the Atlantic.
