eNature.com http://www.enature.com/   The eNature.com Online Field Guide is a searchable database for identifying more than 4,000 plant and animal species of North America. Additional species and other nature content is constantly added to the database.

Encyclopedia of Psychology http://www.psychology.org/links/ A collection of over 2000 links on psychology. The links are organised hierarchically, and brief definitions are supplied for terms on each level of the hierarchy. 

Entomology Databases http://entomology.si.edu/entomology/data.lasso About 25 databases on taxonomy etc of various families of insects. Produced by the Smithsonian Institute. 

Extoxnet A network of University of California-Davis, Oregon State University, Michigan State University, Cornell University, and the University of Idaho providing information on toxicology, with emphasis on pesticides.  The home page is at http://ace.orst.edu/info/extoxnet/  Two resources of interest are the glossary of pesticide-related terminology at http://ace.orst.edu/info/extoxnet/tibs/glossary.htm and the list of pesticide names at http://ace.orst.edu/info/extoxnet/tibs/pestgrp.htm

Index Nominum Genericorum (ING) http://rathbun.si.edu/botany/ing/ Collaborative project of the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT) and the Smithsonian Institution, initiated in 1954 as a compilation of generic names published for all organisms covered by the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature.

Marlin http://www.marlin.ac.uk/ Aims to be "the most comprehensive and easily used source of information about marine habitats, communities and species around Britain and Ireland and their sensitivity to natural events and human activities."  The site includes a glossary of scientific marine biological terms used in the Biology and Sensitivity Key Information Sub-programme (in the Species Information section).

Neoflora http://www.neoflora.com/  Database of plants, with over 38,000 entries.

Plants Database http://plants.usda.gov/ Diverse information about plants, including common and scientific names.  Focuses mainly on plants that grow in the US.

Species 2000  http://www.sp2000.org/index.html "Species 2000 has the objective of enumerating all known species of organisms on Earth (animals, plants, fungi and microbes) as the baseline dataset for studies of global biodiversity."
